About Our Plant

Vladimir Ilyich Moscow Electromechanical Plant,
a traditional manufacturer of electric motors
under the «ZVI» brand,
offers its products to all interested organizations.

JSC «ZVI» specializes in the production and repair of general-purpose
asynchronous electric motors with squirrel-cage and wound rotors with
a shaft height of 280; 315; 355 mm and power from 37 to 400 kW
.
Electric motor rotation speed from 500 to 3000 rpm.

The enterprise manufactures both
general-purpose and
special electric motors:
for compressors, for driving various pumps, fans, blowers, for driving cutters, for driving metro escalators, etc., as well as balancing machines for testing and running-in internal combustion engines. Electric motors can be manufactured in various design versions according to mounting method, degree of protection and climatic version.

At the customer's request, electric motors, in addition to the 1М1001 version - one cylindrical shaft end - can have one conical shaft end (1М1003), two shaft ends, both cylindrical (1М1002) and conical (1М1004), with external or internal thread, and also have a flanged end shield (1М2001).

The plant, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 1997, offers electric motors of consistently high quality, ensured by design features. For example, in frame sizes 280;315;355, a rigid two-layer stator winding is used, with strict adherence to technological processes and inspection operations.

Each coil is made of rectangular cross-section elementary copper conductors with polyimide enamel insulation, in some cases from several parallel conductors, with subsequent impregnation in silicone varnish and straightening.

An air gap is provided between the coils in the end-winding parts, which significantly increases the cooling efficiency of the motor.

When manufacturing the electric motor, wire and insulation corresponding to heat resistance class «F» with a permissible winding temperature rise of 100°C are used. For the manufacture of special electric motors, insulation of heat resistance class «H» with a permissible winding temperature rise of 125°C is used. The actual winding temperature rise of electric motors is within 57-85°C for class F and 90-110° C for class H. The presence of such low temperatures in the windings is the main criterion for increasing the insulation service life several times, and for winding reliability.

Historically, maintaining the «ZVI» brand, special attention has always been paid to motor acceptance testing. Type, qualification, and acceptance tests are performed.
It is especially worth noting the quality control of motors carried out during acceptance tests. Each motor undergoes a long run-in and parameter check. Currently, an individual approach to quality control is applied to each motor.

Marker For example, the service life of our electric motors in the drive of Metro escalators is 50 years.

The main technical indicators of the manufactured electric motors meet the requirements of energy-saving products. The motors have high efficiency and cos φ.

At the customer's request, temperature sensors can be installed in the stator winding and on bearing end shields.

In agreement with the customer, in case of using frequency converters, the motors are equipped with an additional fan for motor cooling.

By purchasing electric motors directly from the plant at an affordable price, you are provided with warranty and service maintenance and, moreover, you can get consultation and be confident in qualified selection of an electric motor and, if necessary, a thyristor starter or frequency drive.

Asynchronous Motor: Basics and Applications

An asynchronous motor is one of the most common types of electric motors. It is used in industry and household appliances due to its simplicity and reliability.

Operating Principle

Asynchronous electric motors sold in the online store of the "Ruselt" group operate on the principle of electromagnetic induction. The rotating magnetic field of the stator causes a current in the rotor, which leads to its rotation. However, the rotor speed always lags slightly behind the frequency of the rotating magnetic field, hence the name "asynchronous".

Advantages of Asynchronous Motors

  • Simple design
  • High reliability
  • Low cost
  • Economical operation

Asynchronous motors are used in a wide variety of fields - from pumps and fans to large industrial plants. Their durability and ease of maintenance make them indispensable in a wide variety of areas.
